The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) recently concluded in Shanghai. International students from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) made an impressive showing at this year's Expo. Whether serving as volunteers or participating as exhibitors, they were active throughout the venue, and became a distinctive and memorable presence.
我校2024级哈萨克斯坦留学生叶戈尔（YEGOR DOLMATOV）担任本届进博会翻译志愿者，为来自哈萨克斯坦的骆驼奶粉等参展企业提供专业翻译服务。11月8日，叶戈尔在“小叶子之家”参加了学校组织的“相约四叶草，共话‘信’未来”主题活动，他分享了关于中哈贸易往来、诚信在国际贸易中的重要性以及参加进博会志愿者的思考。叶戈尔在发言中表示，他亲眼见证了进博会与“一带一路”倡议如何以诚信为基石，为各国带来发展机遇。他愿成为诚信文化的传播者与中哈合作的桥梁，用专业力量推动共赢发展。
Yegor Dolmatov, a 2024 Kazakhstani international student at SLU, served as a volunteer interpreter at this year's CIIE, providing professional translation services for exhibitors from Kazakhstan, including camel milk powder companies. On November 8, Yegor participated in the school-organized themed event Meeting at the Clover, Discussing a 'Trustworthy' Future Together at the Little Leaf Volunteers' Home. He shared his views on China–Kazakhstan trade exchanges, the importance of integrity in international trade, and his reflections on serving as a CIIE volunteer. In his remarks, Yegor noted that he personally witnessed how the CIIE and the Belt and Road Initiative, with integrity as their cornerstone, create development opportunities for countries around the world. He expressed his willingness to become a promoter of a culture of integrity and a bridge for China–Kazakhstan cooperation, using his professional strengths to advance mutually beneficial development.
我校津巴布韦籍本科毕业生Indra携自主创立的品牌Craft‘s Rus亮相本届进博会，以流利的中文向全球客商生动推介家乡的珠宝、木雕、传统服饰等特色产品，成为展会现场的亮丽风景。Indra于2014年毕业于学校国际经济与贸易专业，她的创业实践，不仅将璀璨的非洲文化带入进博舞台，成为连接中非文化与贸易的动人桥梁，更体现了学校应用型财经人才培养的成果。
Indra, an undergraduate alumna from Zimbabwe, participated in this year's CIIE with Craft's Rus, a brand she founded herself. Speaking fluent Chinese, she vividly introduced distinctive products from her home country—such as jewelry, wood carvings, and traditional attire—to business visitors from around the world, becoming a bright highlight of the event. Indra graduated in 2014 from SLU's International Economics and Trade programme. Her entrepreneurial practice not only brings the brilliance of African culture onto the CIIE stage—serving as a compelling bridge connecting Chinese and African cultures and trade—but also demonstrates the achievements of SLU in cultivating application-oriented talent in finance and economics.

From CIIE volunteers to exhibitors, SLU's international students have fully immersed themselves in this grand event with solid professional competence, fluent cross-cultural communication skills, and an enthusiastic spirit of service. This is not only an active response to national strategies, but also a vivid demonstration of the effectiveness of SLU's training of application-oriented talent in finance and economics.
